"I'm three years old...I'm already big...I'm the leader of the
kids", proclaimed my precious little girl as I greeted her this
morning. This post is dedicated to our lovely daughter who's always pretty in pink, sugar and spice, and everything nice (",)
What Is a Daughter?
A daughter is
a rainbow bubble
a star glimmering in the sky
a rosebud after a storm
a caterpillar turning into a butterfly
A daughter is
hair flying in the wind
red cheeks that glisten in the sunshine
big daydream eyes
a wonder
a sweetness, a secret, an artist
a perception, a delight
A daughter is
everything beautiful
A daughter is
love
Three years ago today, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who made our small family complete. We are so blessed to have two wonderful kids, a boy and a girl. But even with just the two of them, they are already a handful!
Our birthday girl has recently started going to pre-school and
she celebrated her special day with her teachers and friends.
I still can't
seem to get over the fact that our girl is a baby no more. It felt like I've been talking to a 5-year-old for the past year with her mature
bearing and with quite an outspoken and spirited personality. She truly brings more color and wonder into our world.
I am proud to say that we share a special bond from the time she was born -- from co-sleeping and breastfeeding for 18 months, and for being there every step of the way as she begins her early school years. And just like with her brother, we wish her all the best the world has to offer, and for her to become an intelligent, compassionate and responsible woman.
To our independent young lady, Happy 3rd birthday! We love you!
