For those of you who've been following my blog for sometime, you may have noticed I don't do much beauty features. Truth is, I don't get giddy over beauty stuff. Now don't get me wrong, I love wearing make-up on occasion, and I do follow a basic, low-maintenance skin care and beauty regimen.
Reality bites -- I'm a few years shy of being forty (can't believe I wrote that number down...in my book, I'm forever 28!) and realized that I never really gave much thought about my "aging" skin until after listening to a dermatologist talk about it in depth. Lightbulb moment!
Enter Celeteque Advanced -- a premium anti-aging skin care line manufactured by Innovitelle, a subsidiary of leading healthcare company Unilab, who hosted a special bloggers' meet.
Brand manager Kathryn Perez opened the program with a fun word puzzle ice-breaker. Surprise, surprise...my team won and five of us got to bring home the company's latest line of 'yummy' skin care products which I'm loving right now. Watch out for it in the next Mom-Finds!

The heart of the presentation came from skin expert Dr. Nenita Alberto, who provided a thorough presentation and shared plenty of advise and tips on skin care and proper use of anti-aging products.
Let's start pampering our skin ladies (and gentlemen too!). Here are the highlights of what I have learned about skin in general and how we can prevent and "erase" the signs of skin aging.
Aside from genetics, passing of time, smoking, and poor nutrition, sun exposure is a major contributing factor to skin aging and so daily use of sunscreen is always recommended.
Did you know...?
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
Aside from sunscreen, the moisturizer is your skin's best friend when it comes to having healthy, young-looking skin.
2 Types of Moisturizers
Tips in using moisturizers:
SRP: P199.00 / 50ml ; P319.00 / 100ml
Thankfully, I was able to attend this gathering since I learned so much about skin science, how our skin should be as we age, how to maintain healthy skin, and prevent the signs of aging with the right products like Celeteque Advanced Trio. This was definitely an eye-opener for me to seriously start taking extra care of my (aging) skin before it's too late.

Aside from genetics, passing of time, smoking, and poor nutrition, sun exposure is a major contributing factor to skin aging and so daily use of sunscreen is always recommended.
- Apply sunscreen that contains a minimum SPF 15
- Avoid the sun, especially between 10 am to 4 pm
- Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before sun exposure
- When swimming, re-apply sunscreen every hour or two after each swim
Recommended amount for different body parts |
- Collagen fibrils is 'organized' in young skin, while it's 'thickened and disarrayed' in aged skin
- Collagen content in our skin decreases by 1% every year = wrinkles
- Lipid film, the oily layer of our skin, is a natural component that helps prevent skin dryness
- Ceramides act as insulating layer, keratin layer, for the outer skin and used as moisturizing agent and protective substance that prevent and repair skin damage
- Melanin (skin color pigment) absorbs carcinogenic UVL, so it's never too late to use sunscreen
- Sudden weight loss or weight gain affects subcutaneous tissue that makes the skin sag or taut
- Sleep position also affects facial skin sagging, so it's best to sleep with face upright whenever possible
- Menopause causes skin thinning and dryness = wrinkles and less elasticity
- Smoking promotes aging and wrinkling; causes pale and ashen skin color, and puffiness
Aside from sunscreen, the moisturizer is your skin's best friend when it comes to having healthy, young-looking skin.
2 Types of Moisturizers
- Occlusives - produce an oily layer on the skin which prevent water evaporation from the skin
- petroleum jelly, lanolin, vegetable oils
- Humectants - draw in moisture/absorb water from the environment
- glycerine, sorbitol, poly propylene glycol (PPG)
Tips in using moisturizers:
- Apply within 3 minutes after washing/bathing
- Apply day and night
- Avoid T-zone if you have combination skin
- No need to use if you have oily skin, or opt for water-based products and apply on dry spots only
- Products containing anti-oxidants, like Vitamin E and Vitamin C, Coenzyme Q10, decreases number of free radicals that contribute to skin aging
Having just learned all these skin care tips from the talk, and receiving my very own Celeteque Advanced Trio, I began a new anti-aging beauty regimen. After over a week of daily use, I can honestly say I'm very satisfied since I prefer a fuss-free, basic skin care regimen.
New! Anti-Wrinkle Ultra-Hydrating Cleansing Oil
It's an all-in-one make-up remover, skin cleanser, and anti-wrinkle product. With Dual Vitamin Regenerating Complex, this cleansing oil firms up the skin, increases skin elasticity and moisture content.
I have combination skin and I rarely apply heavy make-up, so I use this hydrating cleansing oil sparingly. With just a few drops on a cotton pad, it effectively removed my face powder and cleansed my stained lips. The oil also felt light on the skin. Then I washed off with a mild facial cleanser.
SRP: P199.00 / 50ml ; P319.00 / 100ml
New! Anti-Aging Power Serum Concentrated Break Off Capsules
It's a powerful serum with new dual peptide technology: Cytostimulin Lipopeptides, blended with exotic fruit extracts works synergistically to help stimulate collagen and elastin production to soften, smoothen, and firms skin to reduce fine lines.
After cleansing my face, I always look forward to applying the serum -- my favorite in this anti-aging skin care line. I super love the silky texture, and the light, velvety-smooth feeling on my skin. It's recommended to concentrate application of the serum on wrinkle-prone spots like forehead, around the eyes (crow's feet) and mouth (smile lines), even down the neck. I use it before applying the moisturizer.
SRP: P619.00 / jar of 21 capsules
Anti-Wrinkle Facial Moisturizer
An everyday moisturizer with Double Peptide Complex, it works deep within to stimulate collagen formation, plumps up the skin and lessen fine lines. It renews damaged outer layer of the skin and dermatologically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles in just 6 weeks!
I regularly use moisturizer, especially at night, since I have dry spots around my face. What I really like about this formulation is it's very light and glides on easily on my skin without a greasy after-feel. It's even lighter than my previous moisturizer! The best part after using this with the serum every night is that I feel my skin is still smooth and supple even after washing my face in the morning. I just wished it contained SPF15 or higher :)
SRP: P699.00 / 100ml

The Cleansing Oil and Power Serum capsules are exclusively available at Watsons. The Facial Moisturizer is available in supermarkets and other drugstores.
