I've written about my low maintenance skin and beauty regimen several times in the blog so I am quite oblivious to the vanity products flooding the market. I simply rely on what I've been used to, or recommendations from my mother and trusted friends. One brand that has been consistently in the "must-use" list is the renowned Japanese premium brand Shu Uemura.
I was so giddy when hubby handed me this pouch with travel sized Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/I together with the Phyto-black Lift line, lip gloss, and sachets of UV Base Fluid.
It's been ages since I last used their best-selling Shu Uemura balancing cleansing oil. It's pricey and I have not bought a bottle again after I used up my first one many years ago. This premium variant I got is actually more expensive than their classic balancing cleansing oil. I learned that it's best for dry and sensitive skin -- the answer to my crazy skin condition.
I've been using the cleansing oil for almost 2 weeks now. I'm hooked!
- Light and supple on my skin

How I used it:

Starting with my usual daily look with lightly powdered face, I do the following (see illustrations below):

Steps 1 - 3 : Apply and massage.
2 drops of oil rubbed all over my face, then emulsified with a bit of water...
Steps 4 - 5 : Rinse and dry.
After rinsing with water, just pat-dry, and presto -- fresh, clean, moisturized face!

Since the beginning of the year, I've been experiencing extreme skin conditions -- from flaky, itchy dry skin, to minor breakouts and oily spots around the face. Panic mode, on.
I realized it's not the products I use, it's me! I'm getting old, and my hormones are starting to get crazy and moody on me. Time for some major changes and to let go of the familiar. I take it a sign that I got this gift during Mother's Day weekend. Good marketing tactic Shu!
This cleansing beauty oil is my (dry and dull) skin's new BFF!
I love everything about this liquid gold... except the price!!! You know, in Filipino, "mura" is cheap, and this Shu Uemura is not "mura"at all! =)))
I am saving every drop from this bottle!
