I first learned about Okada Manila late last year as they prepared to welcome delegates from the Miss Universe pageant. What really made me took notice was how they described their rooms and amenities. Touted as the biggest integrated resort development in Manila, each luxurious room and suite in Okada features a Jacuzzi and advanced in-room technology. They also house the world's largest dancing water fountain and soon, an indoor beach club with white sand!
When I was tapped to share the news about the unveiling event here for The Fountain last March, I learned more about the hotel's features and got wind of their limited Preview offer of Php 8,888 net per night for a stay at a Deluxe Room until April 30 only.
Siyempe, I was so excited and immediately called to book a night for my family, kahit hindi pa tapos yung Cove Manila, the pool, and other facilities. Thus, a Preview stay. It will still take a few more months to complete the beach club. Next time ulit. In the meantime, we were all excited to watch The Fountain and enjoy the jacuzzi in the room. The casino, several retail establishments and Asian restaurants are open as well.
Last Labor Day weekend, we stayed in a Deluxe Room that comfortable accommodated the four of us. Checking in was a breeze and the hotel attendant accompanied us to the room and briefly gave an orientation of the room's features:
- Two Twin (or one King) beds
- Jacuzzi
- Double sink vanity / dresser
- Walk-in closet
- Separate rain shower room and toilet with remote controls
- Designer amenities and toiletries
- Sitting area and work desk
- iPad tablet room remote control
Service was excellent -- hotel and restaurant staff was friendly and eager to serve.
I also booked an extra bed for the boy for a more comfortable sleeping arrangement coz I shared one bed with the girl, while J got the other bed. This is their basic guest room -- Deluxe Room pa lang yan yet it felt so grand... parang Superior or Junior Suite category na yan ng ibang hotels!
The lavishly furnished and spacious guest room left us completely impressed, especially the tablet that controls the amenities in the room, from lights to cooling, and entertainment system, and the remote-controlled toilet! =)
Having our very own Jacuzzi in the room made all the difference. So, even if their pool was not yet open, it was a very satisfying stay for us already. Just look at their very happy faces!
We stayed overnight to watch The Fountain show, so we had dinner at Medley. They have a very impressive selection at the buffet -- fresh seafood and choice cuts of meat, on-the-spot cooking stations, and so much more. I stuffed myself with lobster tail, baked scallops and mussels, cheese and nuts, sushi, risotto, and sweets. Brunch was at Red Spice Chinese restaurant the following day with some good dimsum and noodles.
We also caught one of the hourly shows at the lobby after watching the musical fountain after dinner.
Here are The Fountain Show schedules:
Friday - Saturday, every half hour starting at 6:00 pm to 12:00 am.
Sunday - Thursday, every half hour starting 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
World of Wonders Performances at the Fountain - Friday - Sunday at the Floating Stage, 8:00 pm.
While this was considered a preview stay at Okada Manila, my family was amazed and satisfied with the grandness of the whole property. It was our first time to experience a hotel stay as luxurious as this one. Sulit na sulit ang bayad namin even if it did not include breakfast. I can only imagine how much more impressive the whole entertainment resort will be once it's completed. My kids are already bugging me to go back. True to their slogan, ours was truly an extraordinary stay.
